Keep it real with Blogger Unleashed

There is one blog out there that has been, in my opinion, on of the best blogs that has caught my attention and has educated me on what I need to do as a blogger and that is Blogger Unleashed.  This blog talks about the “ins” and “outs” of how to make money (not a get rich quick kinda thing)  Vic is real and talks about “how it is” in regards to making money online.

He has started to make Vlogs(Video Blogs) where he talks on specific subjects that are very informative about internet marketing. For example, I am fond of eBay BANS (Build A Niche Site) and looking at his blog, I am very interested to go out and purchase this tool myself to help me make some money. From AdSense to Social Bookmarking, Vic gives many good tips(especially as a new blogger) to point you in the right direction to show you how to start to make money online.  Now I may have to warn you that his language is not “Disney” but that is not the point.  He speaks about what he knows and that is all that counts…right? The object is to gain the knowledge from someone that knows the good, bad and the ugly about what you are trying to get into. It you want to get into making a money online, this should be the first blog you go to. Unfortunately there are many sites that just give you a lot of fluff about what they recommend you to buy just for them to “make money online”. I have been looking at blogs for a year and a half now and I can tell you his blog to me has been a breath of fresh air.  Vic is a man on a mission and a man with a purpose….as I see it…. take it or leave it. Simply click on the link above an check it out.

April showers brings spring flowers

It has been a while since I have written on my post.  There have been many things that I have been looking into in regards to writing and starting something new.  I have thought that I would take my blogging a little further by starting to work on build a niche sites commonly known as (BANS).  On April 1st, eBay started their own affiliate and stopped using commission junction. I just signed up this week and will be trying to create some income.  My goal is to create 30-40 by the end of the year (as I work a full time job).  My goal is to try to make at least $1000.00 a month by the end of the year.  I hope I will be able to do this as it will be a new beginning for me and will give me more confidence using the Internet. Also many other things have happened to my that are positive.

I have bought a treadmill and it works great! I have not looked at how much weight that I have lost but I have seen a significant difference in my posture and my clothes.  I still walk at work but not as often as it is getting hotter and in the summer months it will be unbearable to even move from your car to your house (in July usually gets around 110 degrees in the desert!) I also about a new laptop.  I will be able to work faster and quicker on my goal making my websites.  I also did some spring cleaning.  I took my terribly crowded walk in closet and made it into a library.  I got sick of all the clutter since we moved in July and just needed to take all of my husband’s  books.  I was very blessed to find bookshelves at Big-lots for $17.00 per shelf at the time ( bought 5).  I was so proud of myself that I had to take a pic of the closet when it was completed.

There have been other things mentally that I have been facing.  Don’t know why but talking to my mother seems that every 10 years (as I am in my 30’s now) that seems that I am at the point now to make a job change. When I say job change, I don’t mean really occupation, but that of independence and entrepreneurialship.  I believe my life is changing were I am ready to start figuring out how to make some extra money on the side an eventually work for myself.  My blog is going to still talk about my life and work but it will also incorporate a way that if others are also in the same position (whether it is working on the Internet or their dream job) will also be encouraged. I hope that I will have the ability to take my blog to encourage others to follow their dream.  Whether it is to make extra money to go to school to paying some extra bills. Just to do what you love to do….and get paid something for it.  Paid doesn’t just mean money, but knowing that you are spending time, even if it is for one hour a day, doing someting you love.  Then once you look back months and months later, you could say that you did something that made you happy.  This is what I am going to try to accomplish.

I know that it seems that I am rambling, but I hope and pray that I will be able to accomplish my goals this year (doing pretty well with my weight loss) and just take my life to the next level.

I hope that I will be able to encourage others to find their life’s passion.

Airborne and its “cold”tastrophy

I read yesterday that the maker of Airborne just settled a lawsuit because of false advertising. I myself have used Airborne maybe didn’t read all about the hype of it “curing the common cold” . Now when I was taking the product, I thought that if you took it early (when you felt that you were getting a cold) that it would at lease “ease” your cold symptoms. I guess maybe I put to much thought into it? :)

Their false advertising stated that the product “prevented” and or “treated colds”. There was a lawsuit filed in 2006 for the false claims and the company has to now pay up to $23.3 million settlement of a class-action lawsuit. Now the question is hey, where is my piece of that? Anyways, anyone who has used the product between dates May 1, 2001 and November 29, 2007 you can file a claim and will receive a refund. There is a going to be a final settlement of the amount in the middle of June but if anyone who has questions about their products or to obtain a refund should go to their website.

To get your refund for your purchase of Airborne call 1-888-952-9080 or go to their website http://www.airbornehealth.com/ for further information.

Anyone whom purchase Airborne between 20t01 and 2007 should submit their claim by September 15, 2008.

Take the time to breathe

I have taken the time to look at what is important and to look at what is a necessity.  While working, taking care of children and just trying to keep up with your self can be very challenging.  I have the opportunity to say that I kept one thing up that I am very proud of and that is exercise.  I broke down and bought a treadmill.  I started on it last month (around the 26th or so) and have not looked back.  I have my times where I eat my favorite treats here or there but that is ok. My main goal is to fit back into my clothes that I have hanging there waiting in my closet.

I don’t for the life of me understand women and their weight. I mean isn’t muscle heavier than fat?  My husband thought he was going to do me a favor and buy me a scale but OH NO! I think that is the wrong way to look at fitness. I want to look at it to give me energy, stamina and the ability to fit in my old clothes ( if I can fit in my old clothes, then I know I have lost weight) I think that when people look at loosing weight only as a goal I think that that is not a good idea.  It is INEVITABLE that you will lose weight.  I think that it is best to see what you will GAIN.

I had an AHA moment these couple of weeks that made me think about my financial future. When you work for someone else, they determine what you will make no matter how much you work.  I would like to dedicate myself to doing something that can assist me in making some extra money.  I think that in the future that is what is going to happen. I remember when I lived with my parents that my father was really the only one that needed to provide for us. Now, my husband and I need to work.  My children’s children may face that their parents will have to then work TWO jobs to make ends meet. That is a shame.  That just may happen.  I want to be able to prepare myself as well as my family with some extra money on the side. I was looking on the news and found out the way oil and gas prices are going up we may be paying as much as 4 dollars for a gallon a gas. I predict that it will be up to 5 dollars a gallon by the end of the year. I hope to be wrong but what can you do? I believe that the only thing you can do is prepare yourself the best way possible. Worry doesn’t help it. Trusting in God and all that he can do will help me get through.  How about you?

Popcorn, Fire, Flames, and Thought

My husband a few months ago had an experience with popcorn at work. Being so predictable and sometimes a little lazy, he takes popcorn to work instead of lunch. During his breaks he will eat one or two of his little popcorn treats just to keep his hunger down before he comes home from work. Well, on this ordinary and predictable day went to the office lounge and put in the packet of popcorn. “Always remember to which side to put face down”, he says. To his surprise when he opened the microwave the glass that turns the food was not in there. Oh well, put in the popcorn. Then it happened….the unthinkable. The popcorn caught on fire inside of the microwave. Instinctively he opened the door…big mistake. Adding more air it caused the fame to flare up even more. Now, everyone in the 30 to 40 something year range would know the words “stop, drop, and roll”. Now I didn’t know that referred to popcorn but my husband took the popcorn, stomped it with his feet (mind you he has pants which could have caught on fire) on the carpet of the facility. Now while all of this was happening you ask,” Where were the people during break”. Well, like they always do…people watch. Now after the ordeal, everyone was asking if he was ok. And what was a bit ironic was that there was a girl that was talking on the phone to her friend that happened to also say she burnt her popcorn during the time my husband was playing Fire Marshall Bill. With all that happened to him, where were the fire extinguishers and was anyone prepared for just a situation with fire?

This got me to think about fire safety at work. Did we go over fire safety? Are their bulletin boards that need to be posted by law? Is this something that is recommended for All types of buildings to go over? I just wanted to know something simple as where are the fire extinguishers and how to use them? I decided to go to my county website and find some answers. I was able to find a simple article that talked about safety at work .

Come to find out under this link that there are over 5000 fires annually. That got me to thinking that as adults we are not really prepared to deal with a situation when it comes to fire. It mainly described the basic things that one should do (common sense ) but didn’t give me the essence of laws or bi-laws about having a fire drill at work routinely was necessary. I know that at schools that fire drills (and in certain areas earth quake drills) are routinely done for the safety of our children if a fire was to happen. But again, how about the work place? Well, being someone puzzled, I asked a question with USFA about Las Vegas and if there was a regulation on having fire drills for commercial buildings. Once they have answered, I will post it on my blog and see what it says about fire safety at work. The only thing that I can do now is prepare myself if something like that happens where I work at on my own. I hope they get an answer to me soon.
